We accept credit card payments (Visa, Mastercard) through our secure platform. Payment is monthly with no commitment, and your service is activated as soon as payment is confirmed.

Yes, you can upgrade your plan at any time from your client area. The price difference is prorated. Upgrading is seamless with no data loss.

All our servers are hosted in France, in a datacenter located in Martigues. This ensures low latency for European users and GDPR compliance for your data.

Our French team is reachable via ticket from your client area. Basic support is included with all plans. A priority support option is also available.

Yes, our plans are commitment-free. You can cancel at any time from your client area. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No cancellation fees.

Yes. All our servers are hosted in France, in compliance with GDPR. We do not transfer any data outside the European Union. See our privacy policy for details.

SSH key authentication is significantly more secure than a password: unbruteforceable, never transits the network, resilient to third-party server leaks. All Hostynet VPS follow this standard by default.

By default, each VPS is network-isolated from other VPSes in our infrastructure (anti-pivot policy: a compromised VPS cannot attack its neighbors). If you own multiple VPSes under the same account and want them to communicate privately, open a support request from your client area: we will add an explicit exception for your IPs, at no extra cost.

From your client area, service page, click Modifier ma clé SSH in the Actions column. Paste your new public key: a confirmation email is sent to your account address (valid 15 minutes). Click the link to activate the rotation, then reboot your VPS (or run sudo cloud-init clean --logs && sudo cloud-init init from the web console). The double validation (email link + active session) protects your access even if your client account were to be compromised.

Each Hostynet VPS has dedicated IP addresses according to the offering: Dual-stack VPS = 1 public IPv4 + 1 public IPv6 ; IPv6-only VPS = 1 public IPv6 only. Additional IPs as paid add-ons are not currently offered.

Outbound SMTP port (TCP/25) is blocked by default on all our VPS to prevent spam abuse and protect the reputation of our IP pool. To send mail from your VPS, use an external transactional email relay or authenticated SMTP on TCP/587 (SMTPS/STARTTLS) to your own third-party provider.

We do not offer custom reverse DNS on request. You retain full control of forward DNS (A / AAAA records) at your registrar: your domain points to your VPS IP as you wish. Almost all use cases (web hosting, game server, API, bot, etc.) only require forward DNS.

We never bill traffic by volume: no GB/month quota, no overage fees. The only limit is the guaranteed bandwidth of your offering (see the product grid: e.g. 25 Mbit/s on VPS-2, 62.5 Mbit/s on VPS-4). Manifestly abusive usage (amplification attack participation, continuous bot traffic saturating the link, etc.) may be subject to intervention, but no surcharge will ever be applied.

VPS

Our VPS support a wide range of Linux distributions: Ubuntu (20.04 / 22.04 / 24.04 LTS), Debian (12 / 13), AlmaLinux (8 / 9 / 10), Rocky Linux (8 / 9 / 10), CentOS Stream (9 / 10), Oracle Linux (8 / 9 / 10), Fedora (41 / 42), Alpine (3.22 / 3.23) and openSUSE Leap 16. You get full root access via SSH key authentication, plus a web console (noVNC / XtermJS) directly available from your client area. Full reinstallation available anytime from your client area.

Hostynet VPS are delivered with SSH key authentication only (no root password). After receiving the welcome email with your public IP, connect from your terminal: ssh root@YOUR.PUB.LIC.IP. Your private key (matching the public key you pasted at order) must be in ~/.ssh/.

You can use SCP, SFTP (via FileZilla) or rsync. See our FTP/SFTP guide.

We recommend setting up your own backups. You are responsible for your data. Our optimization guide includes backup tips.

A complete guide is available in our knowledge base (Windows / macOS / Linux). Simplest command: ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "your-email". The public key to paste at order time is at ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub.

From your client area, service page, click Modifier ma clé SSH in the Actions column: paste your new public key, validate the email link, then reboot your VPS. If you are fully locked out, use the web console (noVNC / XtermJS) available directly from your client area to regain access.

You can host anything legal: websites, apps, Discord bots, APIs, databases, game servers, dev tools, etc. See our VPS introduction.

Minecraft

Absolutely. Our Minecraft servers support Vanilla, Paper, Spigot and Forge. You can freely install mods, plugins and maps via the full FTP access included with every plan.

It depends on your plan and installed mods. In Vanilla, expect around 10-20 players for Cuivre (8 GB RAM), up to 100+ for Netherite (32 GB RAM). Modded servers use more resources.

Your server is managed via the Pterodactyl panel, accessible from your client area. You can start, stop, restart, access the console, manage files and monitor resources from a simple web interface.

Your Minecraft server runs on a dedicated hypervisor isolated from the rest of our infrastructure (a compromised neighbor cannot attack your server). SSH key-only access, fail2ban enabled, and continuous monitoring.

Yes, you can change version anytime from the Pterodactyl panel. You can also switch between Vanilla, Paper, Spigot or Forge. See our Minecraft guide.
